N. Marcia Dunphy (née Folcke)
Of Lower Gwynedd, N. Marcia Dunphy passed peacefully on November 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 87 years old.
Born on October 5, 1938, in White Plains, NY, Marcia was the cherished daughter of the late Natalie and Joseph Folcke. She was the beloved wife of James F. "Jay" Dunphy, with whom she shared 63 beautiful years of marriage-a partnership rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Marcia's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband Jay, her three children: Kevin (Amy), Kim Scott (Peter), and Kellie Brogan (Mark), and her seven adored grandchildren: Tyler, Katie (Brendan), Shannon, Mary Kate, Melissa, Sean, and Siobhan. She also leaves behind her dear sister Nancy Petran, cousin Midge Nash, and many nieces and nephews who brought her great happiness.
Marcia's life was filled with warmth and tradition. Her home was the heart of countless holiday gatherings-whether on Edison Drive or Arbor Lane-and her spirit shone brightly during family vacations from Avalon, NJ to her beloved Bermuda, where memories were made that will last a lifetime.
She was a proud and active member of Springfield HS alumnae association, St. Alphonsus Church, a resident of Gwynedd Estates, and a dedicated alumna of Gwynedd Mercy University, where she served on the Alumnae Board for many years.
In honor of her joyful spirit, Marcia requested that guests wear bright and vibrant colors to reflect a life beautifully lived. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Emil J. Ciavarelli Funeral Home and Crematory at 951 East Butler Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. A second visitation will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 1571 Temple Drive, Maple Glen, PA 19002 on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM with Words of Remembrance beginning at 11:30 AM. Funeral Mass will start at 11:45 AM with Rev. Msgr Brian P. Hennessy, Pastor as celebrant.
Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marcia's name may be made to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School.
