Nadine Davied

Nadine Davied, 94, of Kansas City, KS died at The Piper Assisted Living on December 28, 2022. The youngest of four children, Nadine was born on February 28, 1928, in Frontenac, KS to Francis Pirnot and Julia Markovitz Pirnot. Nadine met the love of her life, William A Davied, Sr. in February 1950, and they were married on November 11th of that same year. They moved from Girard, KS to Kansas City, KS in 1956, where they lived the remainder of their lives and raised their three children.
Nadine was a homemaker until she went to work for Hallmark Cards, Inc. in 1967 to earn enough money to buy a color television. She was proud to work for Hallmark and remained there until her retirement over 20 years later. After retirement, Nadine enjoyed volunteering at Providence Medical Center, and attending Go Getters and WyCo Solos at her church. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church for over 65 years. Nadine was devout in her faith and never went to bed without praying the rosary. She lived simply and loved deeply and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren. Nadine loved to bake, and her chocolate and coconut cream pies were the best around.
Nadine is survived by her children, Nancy (John) Upton of Kansas City, KS, William Davied Jr. of Shawnee, KS and Cathy (Phil) Grosdidier of Lenexa, KS, eight grandchildren, Alisa (John) Fritchey, Sarah (John) Paulakovich, Katie (Ryan) Muninger, David (Shanda) Upton, Brian Davied, Molly Grosdidier, Abbey (Dalton) Stene, and Matthew Grosdidier, and seven great grandchildren Drew, Faith, Ellie, Liam, Georgia, Brooklyn and Kinsley, along with several nieces and nephews. Nadine was preceded in death in 1995 by husband William A Davied, Sr, and by her two sisters Mildred (Al) Eshelbrenner, Wilma (Rudy) Korach, and brother Francis Pirnot, Jr., as well as several Davied sister and brother-in-laws.
Services will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N 53rd St, KC, KS on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Visitation will be from 9:30 to10:30 with the funeral mass at 10:30. The family would like to thank the staff at the Piper Assisted Living for caring for Nadine the last five years, and to Kansas Hospice and Palliative Care for their care over the past nine months. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Christ the King Catholic Church. Nadine loved angels and had a large collection of angel figurines. We now have our own "Angel Nadine" watching over our family from heaven.
