Nakia "Keke" Jaqueese Harris was born in Birmingham, Alabama on June 16, 1992, to Rolanda Jackson of Hinesville, Georgia, and Frank Harris (Miccole) of Birmingham, Alabama. From the moment she arrived, Nakia was a bright, happy star - a vibrant soul who brought joy to everyone she met. She loved music and dancing from birth,
and her energy filled every room she entered.
Nakia earned her high school diploma from Schenck Job Corps in January 2017. While attending Job Corps, she discovered a deep passion for culinary arts - a gift she carried proudly throughout her life. Cooking for her family and friends brought her tremendous joy; she poured love into every meal and every smile she served.
Keke was a vibrant ray of light with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. She enjoyed dancing, making TikTok videos, cooking, and spending time with her family. She fought a long and courageous health battle with strength, grace, and unwavering faith.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted mother, Rolanda Jackson (Hinesville, Georgia), and her father, Frank Harris (Miccole) of Birmingham, Alabama; her sister, Niesha Harris (Hinesville, Georgia); her half brother, Nathaniel Harris (Birmingham, Alabama); and her bonus sister, Arianna Adams (Fayetteville, North Carolina). She is
also survived by her loving grandparents, Dorothy Jackson (Pooler, Georgia) and Edward Jackson (Birmingham, Alabama).
Her father's siblings-David (Vicky) Harris, Richard (Barbara Ann) Harris, Leroy Harris, Teresa (Cleveland) Jenkins, Edith Harris, and the late Curry Harris, all of Birmingham, Alabama-hold cherished memories of her joy and kindness.
She was blessed with caring aunts and uncles: Valirie (Michael) Riley of Pooler, Georgia; Pamela Wactor (Naeem Jihad) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Tara (Terry McCollough) Berry of Birmingham, Alabama.
Keke's special cousins, Ariyannah Velez ("My Yanna Bug"), Michael Chaz Riley ("My Mookie"), Melia Agyepong of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Shaquiaya Allen of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Donna Nathan of Fayetteville, North Carolina, will continue to carry her laughter and love forward.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mary Nell Allen and Nathaniel Allen of Birmingham, Alabama.
Nakia leaves behind a host of devoted relatives and friends who will forever cherish her radiant smile, generous spirit, and the joy she brought into their lives.
