Mary Noonan Obituary

Mary Katharine Noonan

Mary Katharine (Hayes) Noonan passed away on April 29, 2025, at the age of 78. She was a faithful woman who embodied Catholic values. She was ever-present in showing kindness and love to her family, friends and community. Mary's lively presence on earth will be missed but she will forever be in our hearts and with us in spirit. She was called home by God to join the loved ones who preceded her in death.

Mary was born on September 1, 1946, in Tonawanda, NY, to William and Josephine (Dorn) Hayes. She married Michael R. Noonan on February 17, 1968. She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Aletha) and Brian (Nicole); plus four adoring grandchildren, Abigail, Sophia, Alexis and Jack; brothers, John (Helen), Peter (Cindy); and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was a 1964 graduate of Saint Joseph Academy in Adrian, MI. She attended Stautzenberger College. Mary was a mother, caregiver and role model for her children and grandchildren. She also worked at WTTO Radio, University of Michigan, University of Toledo and Bedford Public Schools.

Mary and Mike had full and vibrant lives where they frequently entertained and hosted their family members and friends whether on the lake, for a backyard barbeque or a lively card night. After Mike's passing, Mary embraced all the joys of life with her friends and family members especially with her sons and their families in Illinois and her sisters-in-law Kathleen Petty and Barbara Noonan. She was a well known and loved member of many communities in Ohio, Illinois and beyond. She was very involved in the lives of her grandchildren, and she beamed with pride about all that they are. Anyone who had the chance to meet Mary Noonan surely remembered her fondly.

She was preceded in death by her mother; father; her siblings, Barbara Miller, Michael Hayes and William Hayes; and the love of her life, Michael Noonan.

Her family is grateful for the kind and loving care provided by the ICU and Hospice medical team at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.

The family will receive visitors from 3-8 p.m., Friday, May 2nd, at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave., Toledo, Ohio. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 3rd, at St. Clement Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd., followed by a Catholic committal service at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
