James Carter Obituary
ELIZABETH CITY - Robert Allen Carter, age 82, of Elizabeth City, NC, died on September 19, 2025, at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. He was born in Philipsburg, PA, on March 9, 1943, to the late James Mason Carter and Emily Rodgers Carter. Robert served his country honorably in the U.S. Army before embarking on a long and dedicated career as a truck driver for Allied Systems, where he worked until his retirement. He was a respected member of the Elizabeth City Moose Lodge #1847, where he formed lasting friendships and connections.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Michelle Dehaven, and cherished grandson, Dylan Dehaven, both of Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind his dear sister, Norma Grove of PA. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved parents; his sister, Sandra Anderson; and his brother, James Carter.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Robert's presence will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
