Nancie Peacocke Fadeley

Nancie was a 5 term Oregon House member who, as a Democrat, worked with Republicans and fellow Democrats to enact iconic legislation which shaped her beloved Oregon. During her tenure, she was instrumental in enacting the following: the nation’s first bottle deposit bill; SB 100 establishing statewide land use planning; the public records act; and the open meetings act. Nancie never needed credit for her legislative work. It was enough for her to see what Oregon had been given through these acts. Every February 14th., Nancie would remind all that it was Valentine’s Day, but really it was the Oregon State Birthday. My thoughts are with Chuck and Shira during these difficult days.
