Burial will follow at Young's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12pm until service time. Nancy passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren on the 20th of November, 2025. Nancy was born on November 29, 1949, in Gadsden, Alabama. Nancy's life was a testament to her loving nature and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life.
A proud graduate of Gadsden High School's class of 1968, Nancy's dedication to her community began early, as a member of the Tiger Band where she played with spirit and enthusiasm. Nancy spent a fulfilling 25 years with Grimes, Godfrey, and Young before retiring from Riverview Regional Medical Center.
Nancy's family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She never met a stranger and to know her was to love her.
Her son Rex Barron and daughter Ashley Beason, along with her son-in-law Paul, will hold dear the memory of a mother whose love knew no bounds. Nancy's grandchildren, Joey Morton (Kaitlin), Haley Endinger (Ethan), Kayla Traylor (Nathan), Hannah Greene (Derrick), Chandler, Trent, and Garrett Beason, great-grandchildren Dallas Morton, James Eliza, Opie and Sophie Greene, and a host of nieces and nephews, will forever be inspired by their grandmother's passionate support and unwavering encouragement.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack H. Kelley Jr., her parents, Waldon and Margaret Scott, and her siblings, Spencer Scott, Ronnie Scott, Barbara Couch, and Steve Scott. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with them in eternal peace.
Her life was filled with the joy of Alabama football, the tunes of Elvis Presley, and most importantly, the laughter and smiles of her grandchildren. Nancy's presence at family gatherings and her unwavering support from the stands of her grandchildren's events will be profoundly missed.
Those who knew Nancy will remember her as a loving and passionate woman. Her kindness touched the lives of many, and her legacy will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, "It is more blessed to give than to receive," and she gave abundantly.
As we bid farewell to Nancy Scott Barron, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart generously shared. Her memories will continue to light the lives of those she loved so dearly. Nancy's spirit, characterized by love and selflessness, will remain a guiding force for all who were blessed to know her.
