Nancy Jean Richards Bedsole, 60, of Waterville, OH, lost her battle on January 14, 2011. Nan was born April 10, 1950 in Toledo, OH to Eleanor (Hanely) and John W. Richards. She was a Genoa High School graduate. Nan was a teacher. She graduated from University of Toledo with both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Art Education, and an Art Specialists degree. She taught art for thirty-two years in the Anthony Wayne Public Schools, primarily at Fallen Timbers Middle School. She was active in the National Art Education Association and served as the local chapter president for many years. Nan enjoyed her family, friends, crossword puzzles, traveling, reading, music and StarTrek. She married the love of her life, Steven T. Bedsole February 18, 1990. He survives along with her mother, Eleanor Richards of Genoa OH; a son Samuel Bedsole; daughter Staci (Josh) Treece all of Waterville OH; sisters, Marcia (George) Payne of Linthicum, MD and Susan Alt of Howell, MI; and brother Bill of Genoa OH. She is also survived by “Nan’s boys�, Eric (Karyn) Payne of Glen Burnie, MD, John (Anelise) Payne, of Halethorp, MD, Ben (April) Alt of Austin, TX, and James (Whitney) Alt of Howell, MI and a very special niece, Kate Alt of Howell, MI. She is also survived by one great-niece and four great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents and a great-niece. Nan was well loved; she touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Memorial contributions, in Nancy’s memory, may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Friends and family will be received Monday, January 17, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Peinert Funeral Home Whitehouse, OH. Memorial Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Genoa, OH. Interment will follow at Clay Twp. Cemetery, Genoa, OH.
