Nancy J. Benedict, born on September 29, 1943, peacefully passed away on May 15, 2025. She lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Known for her warm personality and infectious spirit, Nancy was a source of joy to all who knew her.
Nancy had a passion for bowling, and she could often be found with friends and family engaging in friendly competition at the local lanes. Her love for travel led her on many adventures, and she particularly enjoyed taking cruises, exploring new destinations while embracing the beauty of the open seas. Above all, Nancy treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories that would be cherished by them for years to come.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Alan Benedict, who stood by her side throughout their journey together. She is also survived by her loving son, David (Patty) Benedict, and her caring daughter, Lisa (Ed) Kropp. Nancy was a proud sister to Joan Turley and Jane Gutjahr, who will continue to hold her memory close to their hearts. Her legacy is further carried on by her seven grandchildren: Tommy (Alyssa) Knox, Kevin (Courtney) Benedict, Allie (Chris) White, Steven (Madison) Benedict, Brad (Cassandra) Kropp, Dylan Kropp, and Ryan Kropp. Additionally, she is survived by nine great-grandchildren: Lily Knox, Amelia White, Louie Knox, Boaz Knox, Elle Kropp, Savannah Benedict, Red Kropp, Roman Kropp, and Madeline Knox, each of whom she adored immensely.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Lawney Nelson Giddings; her mother, Pansy Naomi Giddings; her brother, Bert Giddings; and her sister, Clara Hicks. Although she has departed from this world, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved her.
