I am so seriously heartbroken to see this! How did I not hear this?! My heart feels so sad today!! I helped take care of Nancy when she would come in for an appointment. (When they were in Arizona) Andy would drop her off, we would get her settled, and he would go wash the car and get a snack. I absolutely loved and adored them both so very much! She just loved her family so much! She would come in and have scratches from her kittens, and there was always a story to go with! She became friends with another patient, Andrea. One day Andrea commented on how nice Nancy’s slipper shoes were, and how easy to put on they looked. Andrea had a form of arthritis that deformed her hands and feet, so it was hard for her to wear certain shoes. Well Nancy brought Andrea a pair of those slippers to the next appointment. She absolutely has a heart of gold! She would get a kick out of me telling her that Valerie was my favorite, and One Day At A Time will forever be my show! She has definitely left some happy memories for me, and I’m sure her family! Rest In Peace sweet Nancy! Your memory is forever in my heart!!

I'm so very sorry for your loss of your mom. I know how much you (Valerie) and your family loved her. I have been a fan since I was a teen and related to the fact that my mom was born one year earlier than yours on Feb 16th. Your love for her always shines through when you speak of her on your cooking show. Find joy in all those amazing memories you always speak of. Xo
