As a junior/senior high school classmate and friend of Henry (Hank), I was in and out of the Thompson St. (Dedham) house on a number of occasions. I have a clear memory of seeing Hank's mother, Nancy, seated at her piano with a student. The years have dimmed my memory of any specifics except a positive impression of "Mrs. Bornhofft." Reading her obituary, I can see that she was an accomplished woman, active until very late in life, and I am sure that all of her family will miss her greatly. My condolences to Hank, Eric and the rest of the family.
PS: And greetings to Klaus Natusias, the German exchange student mentioned in the story, and to his family. I remember him well, and am pleased to see that he and his family maintained a connection with the Bornhoffts over the years.

I will always be grateful for my time with Nancy. She was always so willing to share her family and hear about mine. A wonderful woman, I will miss her.

I was so grateful, although pained, to be notified of Nancy's passing. I believe, unless I have my genealogy tangled, her father was my grandmothers brother. When I was a scholarship student at Brandeis, every semester he sent a check to help pay for my textbooks. Good works and kindness must run in the family.
