Nancy Alice Burton

Nancy Alice Burton, age 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2026. She was born in Rochester, Minnesota, on April 30, 1954, the daughter of Louis and Marilyn (Lambert) Nichols.

Nancy spent most of her career working in the commercial insurance industry in quality assurance. After many dedicated years, she retired about ten years ago.

In retirement, Nancy enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, sewing, baking, and cooking-especially preparing favorite dishes inspired by Italian and French cuisine. She often invited friends and family over for her fish fries, jokingly calling them "fried crap."

Nancy was a talented seamstress who created numerous Halloween costumes, prom dresses, and quilts over the years. On weekends, she enjoyed setting up her pop-up market behind Southern Brewing & Winery in Tampa, where she sold plants, decoupage pots, handcrafted aprons, pillows, and many other items she lovingly made.

Nancy was a loving mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Florida Mortuary Funeral and Cremation Service, 4601 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa, FL 33603.
