With deep sadness, we share the passing of Nancy Gayle Carlquist, who left us peacefully on May 15th, 2025, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Gayle Swanson, step father, Helmer Swanson and father, Albert Marion Olsen, brothers, Kenneth Olsen and Richard Olsen, son, David Jackson, and grandson, Wyatt Jackson.
Born in January 1938, Nancy lived a full and beautiful life defined by love, dedication, and quiet strength. She met the love of her life, Richard, in middle school-a bond that eventually grew into a loving partnership. Together, they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage, building a warm and loving life filled with enduring memories.
She was the proud mother of five children, Debbie Ramsey (Bob), Jeff Jackson (Jan), Susan Gibbs, and Kerry Sellman (Eric), four stepchildren, Tony Carlquist, Susan McLaughlin (Ed), Allison Peterson (Kim), and Nancy Johnson (Rex) and a cherished grandmother to several grandchildren. Her family was the heart of her world, and she gave of herself fully- offering wisdom, comfort, and unwavering support through every stage of life.
Nancy had a special gift for making others feel welcome. She was a wonderful cook and took joy in bringing loved ones together. Known for picture perfect holidays, she made every moment feel special. She was also known for her impeccable style - always well dressed, graceful, and effortlessly elegant.
To all who knew her, she was kind, gracious, and deeply thoughtful. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched with her compassion and care.
Memorial service will be Friday, July 25th at 11am with visitation starting at 10am at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 Wayzata Blvd East, Wayzata.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Humane Society of MN, Missions Inc, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, honoring her spirit of generosity and love.
