Nancy Ellen Clelland Nancy Ellen (Shaver) Clelland, 89, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Nashville. She was born in Fairmont on May 5, 1923, a daughter of the late Oral and Anne Shaver. Nancy was a homemaker and mother. In her earlier years she had worked retail in Toledo, Ohio. She was a former member of Valley Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and gardening. She is survived by one son, John David Hayhurst and his wife Irma of Spring Hill, FL and four daughters, Ruthann Halsey and her husband David of Woodville, Ohio, Shirley Hoffman and her husband Bruce of Nashville, TN, Roberta Wenberg and her husband John of The Villages, FL and Joyce Hayhurst of The Villages, FL, 18 grandchildren, John, Jimmy, Jennifer,Jackie, Jill, David, Lisa, Christie, Christopher, Debbie, Kim, Cheryl, Fred, Daryl and Roberta as well as several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five special nieces and nephews, who were especially close to Nancy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Ike" Clelland and a sister, Louise Tucker. Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St. Fairmont on Monday from 11 am -1 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 1 pm with Pastor Rex Musgrove officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
