Nancy C. Cox passed away surrounded by loved ones on Monday, December 8, 2025 at the age of 85.
Born in Rockingham County, VA to Wilson and Elizabeth Purcell Clatterbuck, Nancy moved to Winston-Salem when she was just 19 years old after graduating from Lees-McRae College. She went on to work at Bowman Gray School of Medicine for 35 years before retiring in 2003.
Nancy is survived by her children, Pamela Eller Stanley, husband Reece Caldwell, and Scott Eller, wife Leona; and adoring grandchildren, Kylie Ann Stanley, Jett Eller, Jenna Eller, and Decker Addy. She is also survived by sisters, Betty Lou, Bobbie, and Becky; and brothers, Jim, Mike, and Gary along with their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is predeceased by her second husband, William E. Cox, and siblings, Leanna Cassell and Roy Clatterbuck.
The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Salem Funeral Home on Reynolda Road.
In lieu of flowers, Nancy asked that any memorial contributions be made to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, or plant a sapling tree in her memory. Condolences may be sent at www.salemfh.com.
