She grew up in Bountiful, Utah, and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where she met the love of her life, Michael Edward Crain. Nancy married Mike in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 12, 1972 and was blessed with two children. They made their home together in Arkansas City, Kansas, where she worked as a secretary at Frances Willard Elementary for 10 years and then as an executive secretary to the city manager at City Hall for 16 years. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family, church, and community. Her family always came first and she found her greatest joy in loving and serving them. As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nancy had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was always serving others. She served faithfully in many positions in the church throughout the years, including teaching in the Relief Society, Young Women's, Primary, and Sunday School organizations, as well as serving as the church chorister for many years. Nancy was a dedicated employee to the City of Arkansas City. She enjoyed her work and the friends that she worked with in the city. She is survived by her husband, Mike, of the home; son, Adam Crain and wife Monica of Arkansas City; daughter Brandi Bryner and husband Ben of Abilene, Texas; six grandchildren: Hunter Crain, Kaleb Crain, Maren Crain, Jillian Bryner, Miranda Bryner, and Natalie Bryner; her father, Ferron Elder and step-mother, Mary; seven sisters: Susan (Dan) Coles of Highland, Utah, Connie (Ferren) Squires of Kaysville, Utah, Elaine (Brad) Barnett of Granite Bay, California, Joyce (Mike) Haynie of Gilbert, Arizona, Patti (Jim) Fackrell of Bountiful, Utah, Mindy (Curt) Riley of Tridell, Utah, Kristi (Wayne) Naumann of Pleasant Grove, Utah; and her brother, Scott (Julie) Elder of Lapoint, Utah.
