Nancy Anne DiVerde-Nushawg passed away on November 3, 2025. Born in Woodstock, Illinois January 28, 1950, daughter of the late Melita L (Anderson) and Bartholomew DiVerde. Nancy was wife of 32 to years to Michael Nushawg, mother of Kate (Purple) Roundy of Phoenix, Jesse Billimack (Karlin Lamberto) of Pittsburgh, stepmother to Anneke (Michael) Hilvert of Missoula and Micah Nushawg (Aisha Gantz) of Boulder. Nana to Cassie and Tessa Baumgarth, Owen and Eli Billimack, and Magnolia and Azalea Hilvert. Nan, as they called her, was sister to David (Marlene) DiVerde, Paul DiVerde, Diane (Dale) Olson, Niki (Tom) Whitman, and Debra (David) Storm. She had many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nancy lived a very full life. She cherished time with her family and dear friends who were many. She loved noodles, fishing, reading, music, traveling, and her animals. Nancy celebrated 43 years of sobriety in October of 2025. She was, for all of those 43 years, devoted to working the Alcoholics Anonymous program and being a supportive sponsor to many, many people in recovery. Nancy held a Doctorate of Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and had a long career as a clinical therapist dedicated to helping others. She specialized in substance abuse, adult and family therapy. She had an active interest in A Course in Miracles. She was a member of Mensa International, the largest and oldest, high IQ society in the world.
