Nancy Carolyn " Carrie" Jenkins Doberstein, 90 of Cameron, NC passed away on Sunday, January 11th, 2026, surrounded by family & friends. Born on June 17th, 1935, to Robert & Mamie Jenkins, she brought warmth, laughter, and wisdom to all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Mary Lynn Smith & Barry, William Richard Taylor & Miriam, Karen Ann Taylor & George, Frank Kevin Taylor & Robert Edward Doberstein II (Bobby), Denise Doberstein Ramsey & Patrick, her brother Robert Jenkins, Son-In-Laws Michael Jewell and Don McKenzie along with 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Robert E Doberstein, her daughters Anita T Jewell and Donna T McKenzie and granddaughter, Mandy L Chavis.

Carrie was born in Jacksonville, NC. She lived in Wilmington; graduated from New Hanover High School and moved to Fayetteville prior to settling in Cameron, NC. She retired from Civil Service at Fort Bragg to continued serving her community by working at NC License Plate Agency, Central Carolina Community College and spent many years helping Bob run Kendale Bowling Lanes & Doberstein Greenhouses.

A dedicated Mother & Grandmother, Carrie centered her life around her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness. She was a cherished figure in her community volunteering with Nifty Noggins, the Breadbasket and Johnsonville Ruritans. She and Bob started the Buddy Backpack Program in Harnett County. She spent her happiest hours bowling, playing cards & bridge, going to their RV at the beach and nurturing her family. She was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served in many capacities teaching Sunday School, serving on the Church Council and Women of the ELCA.

Many thanks to her caregiver, Carlethia Denise Cooper and Jennifer Flood, RN of Liberty Hospice for the wonderful care they gave our mother during her declining health.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, January 16th at 2:00 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 Carthage St., Sanford. Please join the family for refreshments and fellowship after the service at the Doberstein's Barn ~ 45 Wildcat., Cameron, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Liberty Home Care & Hospice.
