Nancy J. Downard

NANCY J. DOWNARD, age 83, Dayton, Kentucky, died Friday, August 21, 2015 at her daughter's residence in Berry. Born in Newport, Kentucky, July 7, 1932 to the late Howard and Margaret Lanier Ziegler, she was a retired retail clerk from Rinks and loved telling children's stories. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Peggy Neuforth and Jean Thornberry. She is survived by a son, Shannon (Carrie) Downard, Dayton; two daughters, Kim (George) Back, Dayton and Holly (Bill) O'Malley, Sunrise; half brother, Jimmy Ziegler, Newport; half sister, Judy Ziegler, Newport; Jackie Ziegler, Newport; six grandchildren, Eric Back, ByRon O'Malley, Henry Walls, Megan Downard, Trenton Downard and Dylan Downard and two great grandchildren, Araya O'Malley and Aeryn Back. No services are scheduled at this time. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery in Harrison County. Arrangements are under the direction of Ware Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Flora Shropshire Humane Society.
