Nancy Farrier

Nancy Elizabeth Farrier, 80, of Christiansburg went home to be with the Lord on November 28, 2024. A 1962 graduate of Giles High School, Nancy worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years and spent much of her time caring for older adults in her home. In addition to her compassionate heart, Nancy was a voracious reader and loved animals. She was a lifelong member of Newport-Mt Olivet Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, participated in the United Methodist Women's group, and was active in Sunday school.
She is preceded in death by her father, Graham H. Farrier; mother, Carolyn B. Farrier, of Newport, and sister Jeanette H. Williams of Pembroke. Left to cherish her memory are two nephews, John Williams (Leia) of Pembroke and Joe Williams (Libby) of Newport, and one niece, Mary Rubas (Joe) of Christiansburg. Loved by many, she also leaves behind several great-great nieces and nephews as well as her special cousin, Helen Farrier Renquist of Newport.
The family will receive friends in a time of visitation on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the Mount Olivet United Methodist Church in Newport, Virginia. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 in the Mount Olivet United Methodist Church in Newport, Virginia with Pastor Morris Fleischer officiating. Funeral services will conclude in the Newport Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers; gifts of remembrance can be made to Kendall Funeral Home of Pembroke to offset funeral expenses.
