Seekonk – Nancy L. (Lazouras) Forest, 70, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Richard J. Forest for forty- four years and beloved mother to Elizabeth L. Forest.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Speros and Photeny (Giannakopoulos) Lazouras. Nancy earned her master's degree and went on to a career with the Pawtucket School Department as a special education teacher. She began her teaching career at James C. Potter Elementary School in Pawtucket and more recently at Lyman B. Goff Middle School until her retirement. Nancy was a lifetime parishioner of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Pawtucket and an active member of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society. Nancy enjoyed drawing, reading, gardening, baking, a good glass of wine and spending time at the beach with her daughter and her grand puppy, Chloe. She treasured her friendships and invested much time and energy and care to the people in her life. Above all, Nancy was devoted to her family and will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she has touched over the past seventy years.
Alongside her beloved husband and daughter, Nancy leaves three siblings, Patricia Trempelas and her husband, Jim, of Sarasota, Florida, Thomas Lazouras of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Barbara Remington of Marietta, Georgia, many nieces and nephews, and so many good friends. She was the sister-in-law of the late Wayne Remington.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend VISITATION on Monday, June 19 th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. DIRECTLY at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 97 Walcott St., Pawtucket. The Funeral Liturgy will then begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Seekonk Cemetery. Flowers are respectfully omitted, and memorial gifts to the Blackstone Infusion Center, C/O Women & Infants Hospital, Department of Philanthropy, 101 Dudley St., Providence, RI 02903 would be appreciated.
