Nancy Bolt Gafford, 74, of Oxford, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2025, with her family by her side.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church. The funeral service celebrating her life will occur immediately following the visitation, beginning at 12:00 PM in the sanctuary of Shiloh Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Quarles officiating.
Nancy Janelle Bolt graced this world with her presence on June 22, 1951, in
Indianola, Mississippi, as one of the children born to the late Charles Edgar Bolt and Mary Leon Brooks Bolt.
Nancy devoted many years of faithful service to the agriculture industry as the business manager for McWright Services in Greenville, Mississippi. Through her work, she built lasting relationships and earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Above all else, Nancy cherished her grandchildren. They were the great joy of her life. She rarely missed an opportunity to support them, whether it was cheering from the stands at sporting events, attending school programs, celebrating graduations, or simply showing up for the moments that mattered most to them. Her presence was a constant source of encouragement, love, and pride.
Nancy also had a tender heart for her nursery babies at Shiloh Baptist Church. She found joy in nurturing young lives and watching them grow, offering patience, kindness, and a gentle spirit to each child she cared for.
In her quieter moments, Nancy enjoyed sewing and quilting. These hobbies reflected her thoughtful nature and creative soul. Each stitch reflected her care for others, as many of her creations were gifts made with love.
Nancy will be remembered as a devoted grandmother, a nurturing caregiver, and a kind and faithful friend. Her life was one of purpose, generosity, and love, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. She will also be lovingly remembered for her radiant, warm personality, which brought warmth and light to everyone around her.
Nancy leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence: two daughters, Cole Loper and her husband Michael of
Oxford, Mississippi, and Sommer Thompson of Taylorsville, Mississippi; and four grandchildren: Blake Loper, Presleigh Loper, Luke Loper, and Oliva Loper all of
Oxford, Mississippi; and one sister, Mary Ann Bagley and her husband David of Rison, Arkansas.
The loved ones who departed from this life before her include: beloved husband, Mike Gafford; parents, Charles Edgar Bolt and Mary Leon Brooks Bolt; one sister, Cissy Kilgo; and one brother, Chuck Bolt.
In place of traditional flowers, the family has requested that contributions be given to Shiloh Baptist Church.
The staff at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is honored to serve the family during this challenging season of life. Condolences may be expressed online on her Tribute wall at www.colemanfuneralhomeox.com
