"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding " Often, Mama's visitors in the past 3 years would hear her recite Proverbs 3:5-6 as she encouraged them to trust in Jesus. Nancy George Bailey Hesler passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025. Born October 13,1930 in Cincinnati to Julian Clarke Bailey and Mary Belle McHenry McQueen Bailey, Nancy grew up in Mariemont, Ohio and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Soon after, she met and married Glen Hesler. They raised a family of three children and moved to seven different towns. During their first time living in Carmel, Indiana, she went to IUPUI to become a Registered Dietician. She worked in hospitals and at the Indiana School for the Blind.
When the Lord saved her in 2002, she began reading her Bible with joy and purpose. After retirement, she worked as a volunteer with the Visiting Nurses' Association in hospice care in hospitals and residential homes for the elderly. She enjoyed her cats, doing handiwork, her friends and visiting thrift stores.
Nancy was a member of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis and enjoyed serving in the soup kitchen ministry. She moved to Virginia to be cared for by her daughter in January 2023.
Predeceased by her sister, Janice B. Beaty, her oldest son, Glen Christian and her grandson, Kristopher, Nancy is survived by her daughter, Julianna (John), her youngest son, Scott D. Hesler (Margie), her granddaughter, Selene M. Tucker (Curt), and her grandsons, Evan William Mays and Joseph Christian Bailey Mays plus three great-grandchildren: Marian, Jack, and Calvin Tucker.
A memorial service will be at 1pm, January 2, 2025, at the historic Pleasant Grove Church 8700 Lewinsville Rd, McLean, VA 22102 (703) 506-8270. In early Spring 2026 the inurnment will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati. We thank the Lord for His faithful watch care over Nancy's life and for the expressions of sympathy from friends. Memorial gifts may be made to the Hurricane Melissa Relief response of Samaritan's Purse.
