Nancy L (Burgess) Getz, 84, of Wakefield, VA passed away at the Waverly Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on June 14, 2024.
Nancy was born in Capron, VA in 1940 to Joseph E. and Hettie W. Burgess. Nancy was educated at Wakefield High School. Nancy went on to work in the accounting field in Harrisonburg VA, and in the banking industry in Brandon FL. Nancy retired to Wakefield VA, where she worked at the Wakefield Pharmacy until fully retiring.
Nancy enjoyed reading, shopping and collecting figurines.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Hettie Burgess. Nancy is survived by son Michael C. (Chris) Getz and wife Martha, grandchildren Katie Getz, Justin Getz, a great-granddaughter, brother Robert Burgess, nephew Joey Burgess and family, and niece Annette Haywood and family.
The burial will be private. The Family would like to thank the staff of Waverly Rehab and Healthcare, along will countless medical professionals associated with Sentara Family Medicine- Wakefield VA, Sentara Obici- Suffolk VA, Bon Secours- Petersburg VA and Southampton Memorial Home Health- Franklin VA for the care they provided.
