Nancy Darlene Halferty, age 76, passed away peacefully in her home on January 27, 2025 in Marcellus, MI. She was born February 14, 1948, in Pontiac Michigan, the daughter of Willie and Thelma (Goodner) Tabor. Nancy grew up in Pontiac before meeting Hobie and moving to Flowerfield Twp., where she made a lovely home for herself and her family. Hobie and Nancy married on February 20, 1971 and spent almost 54 years together. Nancy was always passionate about family and her love reached many hearts. Nancy was more than a mother and a grandmother, she was a teacher and a friend. She always had an imaginative side with a whimsical nature that the grandchildren admired. She shared her love for fairies and fairytales with them, always encouraging them to embrace their imaginations and be creative. Nancy was a working woman who spent many years with Kalamazoo County State Bank in Schoolcraft and a decade with The Home Depot in Three Rivers. She always loved her jobs, especially decorating and dressing up for the holidays. Nancy enjoyed collecting, she collected many antiques including E.T. memorabilia and no one could miss her love for anything flamingo. Nancy adored Elvis and would always dance with her family to his music. She enjoyed nature, its flowers and trees, its hummingbirds and its bees, she loved it all. Nancy is survived by her husband, Hobart Halferty; her siblings Debbie (Ray) Gottschall, Linda Jewell, Ken (Kim) Tabor her daughter Heather (David) Wiard; grandchildren Brighton (Austin Moreland) Halferty, Cody (Gabrielle) Halferty, and Christopher (Denise) Sullivan; great-grandchildren Lane Halferty, Octavia Moreland, Roseline and Lisanna Halferty. She is also survived by her stepchildren Shawn (Melissa) Halferty and Amber Mills, and her step grandchildren Chase, Kyle, and Maddox Halferty. Her bonus grandchildren include Harli Johnson and Tessa, Ann (Brandon), and Skylar Wiard, along with 5 bonus great grandchildren. As well as many more family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Cindy Greene, and brother Kevin Tabor. In accordance with Nancy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on June 7, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Ave., Three Rivers, Mi.
