Dear Pastor Herd, Becky, Tom, David, and families, I just learned last night of Nancys homegoing in September. What a devastating loss for all of you! Although I havent seen Nancy for more than 25 years, I instantly think of her megawatt smile and wonderful laugh.
I love the photos in her tribute, with all of you, on mission trips, etc. I remember after the Holy Land trip, what a good time she had, and the photos (many with her in her pink jacket).
We send you our love & sympathy. We thank God for the privilege of knowing Nancy, and that well praise Him with her at that ultimate reunion in heaven.

Nancy is a wonderful person always had a smile on her face no matter how she felt. She would always greet you and give hugs and just pick right up where you left off even when you haven't seen each other in awhile. Her love for others is so great we will miss you dearly but it's not goodbye for we have faith, hope & love from God to see you again. Love from Daniel, Marianna & Xavier Wingard.

I am heartbroken at her passing, but know that our dear Nancy is with Jesus and her light is shining brightly in heaven as it was here among us. She was the first person we met in the narthex at Good Shepherd 21 years ago. Her heart full of love and joy in her Savior made us feel so welcome that we knew immediately that we had found our new church home, even before the service began. On the way home, I said to my husband, "Aren't they blessed to have that precious lady greeting at the door?" We didn't even know at that point that she was the pastor's wife! Good Shepherd was blessed indeed to have them both serving the congregation and leading us to a deeper faith and awareness that every time we left the building, we were entering the mission field. We love you, Pastor and Nancy. You will always live in our hearts and minds. We look forward to seeing you again.

Donna and I visited Good Shepherd one Sunday morning back in 1996. The first person we encountered was Nancy Herd ... she was SO welcoming and enthusiastic about her church ... we knew immediately we had found a new church home.
REST IN PEACE, dear lady ... you deserve it ...
