Nancy Hibbert Obituary

Nancy Carole (Hill) Hibbert

1950-2025

Scottsdale, AZ

Nancy passed away peacefully on December 4th while at home with her husband Mark of 38 years. She was born on September 14, 1950, in Helena, MT, as an identical twin. Her sister, Anne, passed away shortly after birth. We often wondered how the two of them might have compared - Nancy with her feisty spark, and if Anne would have been just as feisty, or Nancy simply had enough spirit for the both of them. In 1954, her family moved from Butte, MT to Salt Lake City, UT and she attended schools there until college when she left to enroll in Weber State University in Ogden, UT. After receiving her degree in Respiratory Therapy she took a job in Phoenix, AZ as a Respiratory Therapist at St Joseph Medical Center. She moved to HonorHealth Osborn in Scottsdale, AZ where she became a Department Supervisor. In 1978, Nancy was selected as the Director of Respiratory Care Services at the new hospital on the Shea Campus, and there she remained for 37 years, retiring in 2015.

Nancy loved life. She took joy in just about everything she did. She was high spirited and delighted by even the smallest happenings of life. Ever the optimist, Nancy was rarely - if ever - seen having a down day. She also always carried a little bit of wild fun with her - especially in high school. During her years in Utah, she spent many days skiing, a pastime that faded once she moved to Scottsdale. Instead, she and her husband, Mark, found joy escaping to the high country of the Mogollon Rim, spending precious time at their cabin among the cool Arizona pines. She was a die-hard football fan, most notably of the Green Bay Packers, Mark's beloved hometown team. When the season ended, she simply looked forward to the next one.

She was highly respected in her work community, being known for her fairness and holding others to her same ethical standards that she herself had. She never would have others do anything that she wouldn't do herself. Nancy loved caring for others and always tried to make them as comfortable as possible under the circumstances.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband Mark, a daughter Meghan Smith (Jason), Ryder, Brody and Brock. Two stepsons, Travis Hibbert (Tanya), Camden, Madden, and Knox and Ty Hibbert (Veronica), sister, Pamela Bauter (Rob) in Reno, NV and a brother Jack Hill (Donna) in Lincoln, MT. A Celebration of Life will be held at Messenger Mortuary located at 7601 E. Indian School Rd. Scottsdale AZ 85251 on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
