Nancy Beatrice "Honerkamp" Honerkamp

I met Nancy when I was a lonely 15yr old new kid at Duchesne High. She swaggered up to me & I braced myself for a mean girl welcome. Instead she introduced herself and told me to give her my phone number. She followed up and invited me to her house with the always present giant bowl of jelly beans, the fat dog,and a crazy mom who remined me of Gracie Allen. Her dad took us to their island where so many people hung out. Nancy was at ease no matter who she encountered. She was beautiful with a blonde streak in her gorgeous brown hair but never conceited, She was short but so tough. She was unfailingly kind. Later she lived in a little basement apartment and I lived in a house down by the river. I didn't have a phone so she'd just randomly show up. One snowy winter day I was in an accident on a mostly untraveled country road. After several hours, I was shocked to see my dad drive up, He said Nancy had heard about an accident out there on her police scanner and was worried it might be me. She never hesitated to put herself out there.
Sometimes you hear about a death and think 'man that's a shame'. Hearing about Nancy was a blow. I'll never forget her

Nancy was well known in this area. ..between all her local jobs and her crafts etc. Never forget calling her because someone had dumped deer bones on our property ... told her tags were on the legs..she said to bring them to park dumpster. She wanted to see the names on the tags. Always helpful.
