MILAN-Nancy JoAnn House, 78, of Milan passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Country Manor Memory Care, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. This event will be live-streamed and can be viewed at the following link, www.wheelanpressly.com/milan-live-stream. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made in care of St. Croix Hospice, Davenport or to the family in order to establish a memorial in Nancy's name at Country Manor.
Nancy was born on July 16, 1944 in Grinnell, IA, the daughter of Thomas and Martha (Huffman) Gegenheimer. She spent most of her childhood and early adult years in Ottumwa, IA before marrying Thomas P. House on November 22, 1969 in West Liberty, Iowa.
Nancy's hobbies included gardening, sewing, reading books in the evening, riding horses, and playing the violin. She was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and the Iowa State Orchestra. Nancy's greatest joy in life came from spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Those left to cherish Nancy's memory include her husband, Tom House, Milan; children, Chris (Tamara) House, Pine Island, MN and Michelle (Zac) Usher, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Madison, Taylor, Kiley, Sydney, Jackson, Emmett, Luke, Andrew, and Zac; brother, Thomas Leroy (Jan) Gegenheimer, Broomfield, CO; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice and Country Manor for their wonderful care of Nancy.
