Nancy Jacobson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 27, 2026.
Nancy Jacobson (Peters) of Hanover born on August 18, 1943 left this earth in body on March 26, 2026 with kisses for her sons Edward (Gus) Jacobson and Christian Ekholm-Jacobson. If she had the strength left, she probably would have yelled at them with love for something they did wrong. Nancy organized her life around her family. Her love for her sons extended to her to her daughters in-law Laura Jacobson and Sarah Ekholm-Jacobson and spilled down the generations to Gus and Laura's children Harris, Isabel and Ellen and to Christian and Sarah's children Elijah and Zoë. Granny was a title Nancy wore with pride and adoration.

Nancy's best friend was her sister Suzanne (Suzie) Webster who left her life too soon and whose three daughters Stephanie Webster, Heidi Webster and Michele Webster she loved dearly and held close to her along with their children. She was the last surviving of the trio of sisters who also included her older sister Margaret (Peggy) Davis who is survived by her husband Lawrence (Larry) Davis who caringly stayed in touch with Nancy through the years.

Nancy organized her professional life so that she could be there to take her sons to school and sporting events which she never missed. She worked as an office administrator for the Department of Public Works in the Town of Hanover for over twenty years and was the same stubborn force in that setting as she was at home. In order to earn extra money to support her son's activities, she worked second jobs twilighting at the Hallmark store in Hanover and the Talbots call center in Hingham. Nancy took pride in her work and it always came second to family.

Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church was Nancy's place of faith and community. For many years, she sang soprano in the choir, baked apple pies and fudge for church events and volunteered with her fellow parishioners to support Rosie's Place. Nancy's faith was central to helping her navigate the love and loss she experienced in her life.

As Nancy passes from this life into the next, she will be wearing a sun hat picking blueberries with her sister Suzie and if the heavens are kind to her there will be hot dogs for dinner.
