Nancy Ruth Hurst-Johnson, age 90, of Newport, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025.

Nancy was a lifelong Cocke County resident, who loved to serve her community. She was a Charter Member with Ruritan dating back to the early 90's, on the board with Farm Bureau Women's Committee, did work with Habitat for Humanity, and so much more! She also served at the Department of Human Services where she met and made so many long-lasting friendships within her time there.

Nancy loved the Farm life lifestyle, traveling, serving her community, talking on the phone with loved ones, and of course we can't forget her love of Word-Search books.

She is now reunited in Heaven by Parents Allen Hurst and Isa B. Hurst (O'Dell); siblings Harold and Shirley (Shaffer) Hurst, and her 2 late Husbands Boyd Watts and Max Johnson. She is survived by her siblings, Bob Hurst (spouse Marge Hurst) and Peggy Johnson (VA;) daughter, Sherry Tressler (spouse Sammuel Tressler); grandchildren, Kimberly Mccoig (spouse Brian Mccoig) and Tyler Morris (spouse Deianaira Morris); great-grandchildren, Natalie Reed, Wren Mccoig, Andrew Mccoig, Jayden Morris, Danielle and Felicity Morris, Dylan Tressler; cousins, Sue and Becky Hurst, Charlene and Wilma O'Dell, Janice Williams, and the Late Jennie Lou Talley; nieces and nephews; Marcia Hill, Terry, Mitch, and Benton Hurst, Janice Williams, Janice Lichtenwalner, Marc, Chuck, and Todd Johnson, Kris Shaffer, Mary-Ann Debusk, Carol Solomon, Russell Watts, and many extended loving family members as well.

Nancy also was a dedicated and active member of Salem Lutheran Church of Parrottsville, TN, where she devoted her life to God, alongside her many brothers and sisters in Christ.

The family will receive friends on Thursday December 18th from 4-6 pm with service to follow ay 6pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel Pastor, Norman Deal officiating.

Entombment will be Friday December 19th at Resthaven Memorial Gardens at 2 pm.
