Longtime Janesville resident Nancy Jane Kane peacefully passed from this life Thursday morning, September 11, 2014 at St Mary's Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. Born September 30, 1931 in Medford, Oregon to the late Robert and Clara (Green) Munter, Nancy spent her early years in Medford where she attended grammar school and as a young teen moved first to Watsonville, CA and later to Salinas where she is a member of the Salinas High School graduating class of 1949. Nancy went on to continue her education at Hartnell Community College graduating from there with her Associates Degree in 1951. While attending college she married the longtime love of her life and best friend Kenneth L. Kane on March 20, 1951 whom she had met at a local party while attending high school. To this union two sons and two daughters were born. The couple settled in Salinas where she worked for the Salinas Valley Credit Union while Ken worked as an officer for the California Highway Patrol. In 1975 Ken accepted a transfer to Lassen County where the couple settled in Janesville and Nancy went to work for Citizens Utilities as an office clerk retiring after ten years of service to the company. Nancy found great pleasure in sailing Eagle Lake with her husband as well as taking cruises throughout the Northwest. She had a great affection for the animals of the world. In passing Nancy leaves her husband of sixty three years, Ken of Janesville, CA, children; David Kane and his wife Morgan of Richland, Missouri, Tom and his wife Carol of Olympia, Washington, Dianne Parker and her husband Steve of Fallbrook, California and Janice Emerson of Reedsport, Oregon, her precious grandchildren Amber, Zach, Jennie, Seth and Roxanne along with nine great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She is also survived by her brother Bob Munter and his wife Barbara of Sun City, Arizona. Private family services will take place following cremation locally at Fehrman Crematory.
