Nancy Davis Knight

Nancy Whipple Davis Knight died peacefully on February 26, 2026, at the Fairview Nursing Home. She was 87 years old.

Born on May 12, 1938, she was the second daughter of the late Albert Davis and Martha Whipple Davis and the widow of the late William Walton Knight, who predeceased her on November 14, 1998.

Nancy was educated in the Nashua Schools and graduated from Nashua High School in 1956. She went on to graduate from Westbrook College in 1958 and later attended the University of Vermont.

Nancy worked for many years as a receptionist at the law office of Clancy & O'Neill, as well as at the Sadler Insurance Agency.

She was actively involved in her community throughout her life. Nancy once served as a board member of The Front Door Agency, volunteered as an auxiliary member at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, was a previous member of the Nashua Country Club, and was a proud member of the Diva Art Group.

Nancy was predeceased by her sisters Sally Davis Adams, Susan Davis Hackney, and her beloved cats, Waler and Alice.

Nancy is survived by her stepsons, John Gifford Knight and James Austin Knight, and her nieces Laurie Adams Shean, Lynne Adams Laramie, Julie Adams Martin, and Stacey Hackney Denis; four step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Nancy was a friend to everyone as she loved the words "cocktail party". She was a wonderful host and loved to be with her many friends sipping her CC Manhattans.

Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock Street, Nashua, NH. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m., with interment and committal services taking place afterward at Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst Street, Nashua, NH.
