Nancy Frances Lashway

Nancy Frances Lashway, age 70, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away in Boynton Beach, FL on September 28, 2024 after a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Nancy was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1954 to Frank and Pauline Swanek. She grew up in Middletown, NJ, was a 1972 graduate of Middletown High School, and eventually settled in Delray Beach, FL in 1989. Nancy attended Douglass College at Rutgers University and graduated with a degree in Nutrition in 1976. She earned a Master of Public Health from University of South Florida in 2003 and a Doctorate in Public Health from Rutgers University in 2015. She worked as a clinical dietitian for 11 years, then transitioned to work as a practice manager and consultant for her husband, David Melvin Lashway, MD.
Nancy was an active member of the community and closely supported school and music programs at Unity School and Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, FL. She enjoyed traveling, running, swimming, boating, and snow skiing; and she loved spending her winters with family in Lake Tahoe.
Nancy is preceded by her parents, Frank and Pauline Swanek, and her sister, Linda. She is survived by her beloved husband, David Lashway, and her children, Christopher Lashway and wife Katherine of Waltham, MA, and Stephanie Lashway of Miami Beach, FL.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11 am at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Delray Beach, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
