Nancy Elizabeth Lipscomb Holstad

NANCY ELIZABETH LIPSCOMB HOLSTAD, age 94, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024. Nancy was dedicated to her career as a Christian Education Director of over 40 years and served with her late husband, Rev. Vernon F. Holstad, in their ministry through their many years together in Nova Scotia, Canada, Portersville, Pennsylvania and most recently at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, Tennessee for over 20 years. Nancy grew up in Savannah, Georgia and enjoyed classical music, puzzles and fellowship with her friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin M. and Kathryn Page Lipscomb; siblings Thomas, Katherine and Richard Lipscomb; and her husband of 49 years, Rev. Vernon Floyd Holstad. Nancy is survived by her son, Scott Cameron Holstad and wife, Gretchen VanOstrand; loved nieces and nephews; and her church family at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. Her family would especially like to acknowledge their appreciation for Nancy's church friends who showed such care, commitment and support during her last months. A private graveside service will be held at Nancy's request.
