Nancy Madson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 2, 2026.
Nancy Lee (Anderson) Madson

Age 85 of Minneapolis, MN

Passed away on December 31, 2025

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; parents, Hjalmer and Catherine Anderson; sister, Kathleen ("Turk"); brother, Eugene; and nephew, Chris Anderson. Survived by children, Kathryn and James; niece Heidi Anderson; and great-niece, Ella Anderson and other relatives and friends. The bedrock of Nancy's life was her faith in Jesus Christ - the foundation for her genuine love for people and motivation for her to look for ways to support the needs of others. She was a world traveler and avid baseball fan, loved music and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She was beloved by both her family and friends and will be sorely missed. Nancy requested a small family funeral service and there will be a larger memorial gathering honoring Nancy's life later in January. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to either Inner City Church Minneapolis (changingourcity.org) or Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities (ugmtc.org).

Nancy Madson was the mother of my friend Kathy in our church youth group. She and Jerry were always kind and welcoming and opened up their home to Kathy´s and Jim´s friends. We had many youth group parties in their wonderful basement. Their thoughtfulness and encouragement set examples for me that I will always treasure. The family even sent me a condolence card when my beloved dog died. Their friendship to me specifically will always be appreciated and never forgotten. All my love and appreciation to Nancy. Kathy and Jim, you are in my thoughts.
