Nancy McBride Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Millennium Cremation Service - Palm Bay on Oct. 17, 2025.
Nancy Crowell McBride, 75, of Palm Bay, Florida passed away on October 8, 2025.

Nancy was born on March 1, 1950 in Southmont, North Carolina. The beloved daughter of the late John and Willie Crowell and wife of the late Richard (Rick) Leon McBride. Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughter, Ashley McBride and husband Darrell Wallace, son John and wife Brittany McBride, and grandchildren, Haston, Kylee, Harrison, and Weston. As well as grandcats, grand dogs, and many wonderful friends.

Nancy was known for her open heart, open mind, and gracious hospitality. She made life-long friends wherever she went. After graduating from Central Davidson County High School she attended Lees-McRae College. Her love of children and community led her back to the public schools. As a teacher's assistant in both Davidson and Surry Counties she was well known as a passionate student advocate. If any child needed food or clothing Nancy made certain those needs were met. After retirement from the schools she enjoyed working at Shelton Vineyards for many years making more friends and attending classes at Salem College to be more knowledgeable about the wine and people she served. In retirement Nancy also loved to travel and enjoyed many road trips throughout the U.S. and Canada with Rick.

A celebration of life will be at a later date for family and friends to attend and honor Nancy's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any charity in honor of her.

I´m heartbroken to hear about Nancy´s passing. I had the privilege of working with her for many years at Flat Rock, and she was always my biggest cheerleader when I was just starting out as a new teacher. I cherished her friendship so much.

Nancy loved her family BIG, and she never failed to ask how mine was doing too. She was one of the kindest, most genuine people I´ve ever known, and I´ll always be grateful for the time we shared together at FRES.

To say that she will be deeply missed is an understatement. My heart goes out to all of you.

With love and sympathy,
