Nancy Meehan (Baker), fondly known as "Nanny," 86, of
Epping, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025. Born on February 1, 1939, in
Boston, Massachusetts, she grew up in Hyde Park and lived a life defined by faith, family, and generosity. She loved sharing stories about her childhood "on the island" in Hyde Park and the fairytale beginnings of life with her prince, Ted.
Nancy devoted the early years of her life to being a full-time homemaker and mother, caring for her husband and children until around 1974. She then entered the workforce, working in production, secretarial, and administrative roles until her retirement in 1993. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Edward "Ted" "Papa" Francis Meehan. Together, they raised their family in Medway, Massachusetts, where they lived from 1959 to 2009. They later moved to Douglas, to an in-law apartment they built in the home of their daughter Teddianne and her husband, Mark. Nancy lived there until the spring of 2024, when she moved in with her daughter Karen.
She is survived by her children, listed in order of birth: Karen, Cynthia, Donna, and Teddianne and her husband, Mark; her grandchildren Michael, Kevin, Brian, Debbie, Eric, Nancilee, Johnny, Eddie, Jesse, and Emily; and her great-grandchildren Riane, Ben, Sienna, Dylan, Lydia, Logan, Avery, Lennox, Kaylee, Korbin, Leon, and Jacob. Nancy was the daughter of Marion DiMarzio and Warren C. Baker, and was predeceased by her brothers, Warren C. Baker and John P. Baker.
A woman of deep faith, Nancy was a decades-long member of Bethany Community Church in Mendon. Alongside her husband, she faithfully served the church and was instrumental in spearheading The Blessing Barn, the church's cornerstone compassion outreach ministry, which has provided clothing and essential resources to countless individuals and families. Her legacy of service continues through all those she touched.
Nancy loved painting, crocheting blankets for her family, winters in Florida, summers at Old Orchard Beach and Cape Cod, and celebrating the Fourth of July - a day especially dear to her because it was also the day she and Ted shared their wedding anniversary with Teddianne and Mark, Eric and Katie, and Brian and Alyssa. Known for her kindness, humor, and honesty, she often said, "I'm finer than a hair on a frog." No one could deny the love, faith, and strength of this precious lady.
We mourn because we miss her - and we rejoice with her because she is finally with Jesus and the loved ones she has longed to see again.
