Nancy Margaret (McDonough) Munro, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at her home in Walpole, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Walpole on May 25, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Durris (Hannaford) McDonough. Nancy was raised in Walpole and lived there her entire life.
Nancy married her beloved husband, David M. Munro, on August 1, 1959, in Salem, New Hampshire. The couple made their home in Walpole, where Nancy took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her twelve children. Together, they fostered over 100 children and adopted 9 in the span of 50 years.
Nancy’s life was a testament to unconditional love where her greatest joy was her family. She adored her children and grandchildren beyond measure and delighted in every visit, phone call, and milestone. She wanted her children to experience the very best that life could offer, whether traveling, sports, seeing a show, or through various adventures. She was known for her generous spirit, thoughtful gestures, and quiet acts of kindness. Nancy loved being on the road – whether driving through the mountains, going to the Cape, or simply enjoying a cruise around town.
She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and strength will continue to guide her family.
