Her Legacy... Nancy Rita (Serio) Osterday, age 93 of Howell, formerly of
Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. Nancy was born on March 25, 1933, in
Dayton, Ohio, to Charles and Josephine (Balsamo) Serio.
Nancy married the love of her life, Gilbert Osterday, on December 1, 1951, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in
Dayton, Ohio. The two first met at a movie theater where Gilbert worked as an usher. What began as a friendship quickly blossomed into a lifelong love story that would span 68 wonderful years of marriage and bless them with seven children, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren with three more on the way.
Together, Nancy and Gil shared a passion for travel and adventure that created many beloved stories and memories. They proudly visited all 50 states, spent countless days traveling in their motorhome, enjoyed many cruises together, and even journeyed to Rome.
Nancy was a devoted mother and wife and was known for her kind spirit and gentle caring way. She found her greatest joy in being surrounded by family and loved preparing meals for everyone, especially her cherished Italian dishes. Her home was always filled with warmth, love, and the comfort of togetherness.
Faith was at the center of Nancy's life. She was guided by her deep love for Christ and the fellowship of her Catholic church community. Above all, Nancy cherished her family and friends more than anything, and all who knew and loved her will miss her dearly.
Her Family… Nancy will be missed by her Children; Craig (Cathy) Osterday, Mark (Kathy) Osterday, Paul (Linda) Osterday, Joe (Karen) Osterday, Julie (Geno) Melnik, Annette (Vito) Caruso; her Grandchildren; Ryan Osterday (Chao Liu), Eric (Christi) Osterday, Elyse Osterday (Chris Salerno), Jason Osterday, Jackie Osterday, Adam (Sara) Osterday, Rachel Osterday, Jessica Osterday, Jennifer (Steve) Ward, Phillip (Lindsay) Osterday, David Zennie, Peter (Sara) Melnik, Sarah (Frank) Griffiths, Joseph (Brianna) Caruso, Megan (Mitchell) Stegman; her 15 great grandchildren; her sister-in-law; Dena Serio and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy is preceded in death by her loving parents, Charles and Josephine (Balsamo) Serio; her husband, Gilbert Osterday; her siblings, Leonard Serio, Michael (Marilyn) Serio; her daughter, Rita Zennie; and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Osterday.
