Nancy Ann Peters

Nancy Ann (Meacham) Peters, 84, died February 10, 2026 at Elmwood Assisted Living at Fremont, OH. She was born October 16, 1941 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH to Anna Marie (Pasch) and Nelson Meacham. She had a lifetime affiliation at St. John Lutheran Church of Port Clinton.

Nancy attended Gypsum Elementary School and graduated from the Port Clinton High School in the class of 1959. She is fondly remembered for her three years as a cheerleader for all sports. She also excelled at other sports. She always enjoyed lunches and gatherings with school friends. Nancy attended secretarial school in Columbus and began her career at the Eckrich Plant in Fremont. Later, she worked for General Telephone and Electronics Corporation at Port Clinton for an extended period. After marriage to Marion "Pete" Peters, she became a proud homemaker. She loved flower gardening, bird watching and antiquing, especially of fabrics and glassware.

She was the proud parent of Daniel Lee (Catherine) Gittinger of Medina and Stephanie (Gittinger) Coira of Port Clinton. Her grandchildren are Natalie Closson and Nicholas Gittinger of Ohio and Stephen Coira and Lauren Coira of Texas; great-granddaughter: Nora Gittinger.

Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, May 18, 2026 at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Lung Association, 5755 Granger Road, Independence, OH 44131 or Humane Society of Ottawa County, 2424 E. Sand Rd.
