Cottonwood Heights, UT-Nancy Lorraine Rees, born February 8, 1948 in Emporia, Kansas passed away on January 1, 2026 in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved daughter of Charles and Betty Swint and a cherished sister to Jim Swint.
Nan was a devoted mother to Ab Rees (Jenny), Aaron Rees (Jill), Alisha Brubaker (Jim), and Ashley Kirkpatrick (Chris). Nothing brought her more pride or joy than her family, especially her grandchildren: Lexy Rees-Avila (Jose), Abby Rees, Aaron Rees (Corinne), Aubree Pacheco (Rafael), Jake Brubaker, Alex Brubaker, Jayla Brubaker, Connor Kirkpatrick, and Ava Kirkpatrick. She was also recently blessed with a great-granddaughter, Gracie Rees, who held a special place in her heart.
Nan dedicated 20-plus years of service to Snowbird Ski Resort, where she was known for her strong work ethic, dependability, and genuine care for those around her. Beyond her professional life, she was deeply involved in the Utah soccer community, where she generously supported players, families, and programs for many years.
An avid bird watcher and gardener, Nan took great pride in her lawn and garden, finding peace and joy in tending to her flowers and watching the birds that visited her yard. She was also a proud and active resident of Holladay, Utah, known throughout her community for her kindness, warmth, and willingness to help others.
Nan will be remembered for her devotion to family, her love of nature, her strong spirit, and the lasting impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and the many lives she touched.
The family extends special thanks to Valencia at Cottonwood Heights for the compassionate care and kindness they provided during Nan's final months.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring, when the flowers are blooming and the birds are chirping, in honor of Nan's love for nature. Details will be shared at a later date.

So sorry to hear of Nancy passing, I was couple of years ahead of her in HS but had a few classes with her , she was always a great person to be around.
