Nancy S. (Wood) Rion 83, Topeka, died Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Midland Hospice House.
She was born August 3, 1941 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Caswell and Veda (Bender) Wood.
She married Paul C. Rion on June 9, 1962.
She worked on the Menninger Foundation Children’s Unit and her greatest joy was providing home daycare for over 40 years to children that were so incredibly important to her.
Survivors include her daughter; Deborah (Dave) Rion, grandson; Adam Milner, brother in law; Mike (Nancy) Rion, nephews; John Wood Jr., Carter Rion, David Rion, and niece; Cathy Rion-Starr.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Paul C. Rion, and son; Todd Rion.
Nancy requested that there not be a memorial service. Friends will gather in her honor at a future time.
Inurnment will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Topeka Zoo, 635 S.W. Gage Blvd. Topeka, KS 66606, or to Midland Hospice House 200 SW Frazier Cir. Topeka, KS 66606.
