Nancy Gaddy Rivers

Chesterfield, SC 

Mrs. Nancy Gaddy Rivers, age 72, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 16, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. The service in celebration of her life and homegoing will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026 in the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with Dr. William Rivers, Reverend Gerald Rivers and Pastor Hank Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Baptist Church cemetery, with the committal service being officiated by Reverend Chad Vick and Reverend Ronnie Collins. The family will receive visitors on Thursday evening, March 19, 2026 at the funeral home between the hours of 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. 

Mrs. Rivers was born on December 5, 1953 in Anson County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Perry Ray Gaddy and Jeanette Watson Brigman. Throughout her life, she exemplified grace, strength, and devotion to family and to her faith, relishing in her calling as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Nancy was a cherished member of Oakland Baptist Church. She was known for her quiet spirit and for enjoying the simple things of life. For many years Nancy served alongside of her husband, Reverend Robert N. Rivers as a faithful pastor’s wife. Mrs. Rivers will be remembered for her determined work ethic; doing all things wholeheartedly. She delighted in learning and sharing the art of American Sign Language, and she took joy in the beauty of flowers.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rivers was preceded in death by her baby brother, Richard.

She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 53 years, Reverend Robert N. Rivers of the home; daughters, Dawn Griggs, Melissa (Waylon) Hendrix, Miranda (Eddie) Reece, all of Sumter, SC; grandchildren, Sharon Griggs, Allecia (Stephen) Replogle, Beverley Griggs, Tessa Griggs, Carmella Griggs, Avery Hendrix, Emmy Hendrix, Hannah Reece, Madalyn Reece, Allison Reece; 1 great-grandchild; brother, Andy (Christy) Gaddy of Chesterfield, SC; step-father, Beauford (Eva) Brigman; daughter of the heart, Hannah Williams, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Gentiva Hospice for their exceptional care of Mrs. Rivers.
