Nancy Ellen Sargent June 27, 1951 - February 22, 2026
Nancy Ellen Sargent, 74, of Harleysville, PA, passed away on February 22, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, devotion, and unwavering love for her family.
Nancy faced life's challenges with remarkable strength. She courageously battled cancer - and won - embodying determination and perseverance throughout her life. She took great pride in her work, commuting hours each day to the World Trade Center, where she was honored to be part of such an iconic place. A survivor of the September 11, 2001 attacks, Nancy carried that experience with quiet strength and was always willing to share her story of survival, hope, and perspective.
Her greatest accomplishment and deepest joy was her only son, Doug. As a devoted single mother, Nancy poured her heart into raising him, making sure he always knew how deeply he was loved. She filled his childhood with meaningful experiences - skiing trips, camping adventures at the Jersey shore and other trips - all with the intention of shaping him into the man he would become. Her pride in Doug was boundless.
Nancy cherished her family and friends and held close the memories of time spent together - dancing, laughing, and celebrating life's simple joys. Music was a constant companion in her life, and she loved all kinds, especially country. She was a devoted fan of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and many others, and her favorite songs often became the soundtrack of gatherings, car rides, and quiet moments alike. At home, she found daily comfort and companionship in her beloved dogs, Peanut and Lucy, who were always close by and deeply loved.
She had a warm spirit, a strong will, and a generous heart that touched many.
She was preceded in death by her beloved partner of many years, Chet; her dear brother Lee; and many other cherished family members and friends who went before her - too many to name but never forgotten.
Nancy is survived by her devoted son, Doug (Laura), and grandsons, Justin and Matthew. She is also survived by her sisters Brenda (John) and Bonnie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love.
Nancy's strength, love, and determination will live on in the lives she shaped and the memories she created. Though deeply missed here, we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with the loved ones she held close in her heart.
