Nancy Ann Schiellerd, born on December 18, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on February 21, 2026, in Charlotte, NC. She led a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family, leaving behind a cherished legacy that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Nancy's career spanned several decades, beginning with her and her husband's venture in operating a meat market while living in Hubbard Lake, MI. After relocating to Florida, she continued to make significant contributions as an administrative assistant, a role she maintained up until August 2025. Demonstrating remarkable work ethic and commitment, she worked 40 hours a week until just six months prior to her passing. During her professional journey, she had the opportunity to work for notable figures, including Jeb Bush, and played a crucial role at Catholic Charities. She ended her working career at Capital Area Community Action in Tallahassee, FL.
A woman of many talents, Nancy was known for her humor, sassiness, sweetness, and intelligence. She was not only a beloved mother-in-law and grandmother but also an inspiring figure to her loved ones. Her hobbies reflected her nurturing spirit; she found joy in sewing, canning foods, and baking. Her skills in the kitchen extended to her talent for baking and decorating cakes, a delightful endeavor that brought sweetness to both her home and the lives of those around her.
Nancy is survived by her son, Ted Schiellerd (Jennifer), along with three grandchildren, Alex (Bianca), Jerry "LJ", and Wesley. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Cassius, and Carrigan, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
She was predeceased by her husband, Everoid Schiellerd, and her daughter, Michelle DeYounks, as well as her great-granddaughter, Evangeline.
Nancy Ann Schiellerd’s warmth, humor, and resilience will continue to resonate within her family and friends as they commemorate her life and the wonderful memories they shared.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Progressive Care Team and Atrium Carolina's Medical Center. Their thoughtfulness and level of care meant a lot during Nancy's last days.
Nancy will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with her husband, Everoid, who was a World War II veteran.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Capital Area Community Action or Catholic Charities in Tallahassee.
