Nancy L. Schmidt, 78, of Chippewa Falls, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire. She was born March 14, 1932 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth (Bonnin) Schmidt. Nancy graduated from McDonell High School in 1950. She attended Licensed Practical Nursing School in Kenosha. Nancy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was also an animal lover and was always willing to feed and house a stray cat or dog. She was very kind and generous. She is survived by: two brothers, William Schmidt of Chippewa Falls and Dale Schmidt of Oakfield, Wis.; one sister-in-law, Nancy Schmidt of Orlando, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Nancy was preceded in death by: her parents; and one brother, Richard Schmidt. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 at Notre Dame Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Brian J. Jazdzewski will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Burial of cremains will be in Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls at a later date. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 2, and until 10 a.m. Friday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. The Ladies of Notre Dame will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. and there will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7 p.m. both Thursday at the funeral home.
