Nancy Snow

Nancy Porter Snow, 96, of Charlottesville, VA, passed away on January 23, 2026, at Poplar Hills Nursing Home in Warrenton, VA.

Born July 31, 1929, in the quiet, storied town of Schuyler, Virginia-famed for its enduring soapstone and celebrated as the home of the Walton family-Nancy Porter Snow carried with her a boundless curiosity and a love of learning that would guide her through a life rich with experience. Her adventurous spirit and keen mind took her across the country and the world, offering experiences that broadened her understanding and added depth and perspective to her life.

She loved culture, music, and the fine arts, from opera to reading widely. Her nephews will remember her for the many visits that introduced them to the arts and nurtured their appreciation of culture. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed traveling across the country and abroad with her church and senior groups. A lifelong learner with a deep appreciation for history and genealogy, she also enjoyed playing bridge and the friendships it brought. She will be dearly missed.

Nancy was the daughter of Robert P. Snow and Carson J. Snow and was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Robert Snow Jr. and Wallace R. Snow.

Her nephew, Robert L. Snow, passed away shortly after her.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Snow of Catlett, VA; her nephews and their wives, Scott and Mae Snow of Nokesville, VA, and William and Tracy Snow of Amissville, VA; her niece-in-law, Pamela Snow, widow of her late nephew, Robert L. Snow; and many great-nephews and great-nieces.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Charlottesville, VA.
