Nancy Sorensen Obituary
June 25, 1933 - February 18, 2026
Nancy Stratton (nee: Colbo) Sorensen passed away at Froedtert South, Kenosha on February 18, 2026. She was born in Racine on June 25, 1933, daughter of the late George and Ella (Stratton) Colbo.
Nancy was a graduate of Wm. Horlick High School "Class of 1951."
She was employed with the Racine Police Department as a records clerk retiring in 1997 after 18 years of service.
Nancy was united in marriage to Floyd Sorensen on March 28, 1953, at Bethania Lutheran Church.
She was a longtime member of Bethania Lutheran Church.
Nancy's favorite past times were reading, craft fairs, gardening, trying to solve crossword and picture puzzles, in addition to family gatherings and road trips.
Nancy is survived by children; Penny Sorensen, Kurt (Maureen) Sorensen both of Racine, Keith (Julie) Sorensen of Mary Esther, FL., Kyle (Kim) Sorensen of Burlington, WI, Peggy (Kevin) Metzger of Rib Lake, WI, Pamela (Scott) Clickner of McGregor, IA, Kai (Rhonda) Sorensen of Clarksville, TN, Kraig (Vikki) Sorensen, and Paula (Greg) Roushia both of Racine.
She is further survived by 15 grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren in addition to four step-great grandchildren, along with four nieces, three nephews, two cousins, two sisters-in-law, Leone Sorensen of Racine and Patricia Colbo, of Madison. Last but not least, Nancy is survived by her best friend and cohort for the past 50 years Mary Chacon, along with special friend Sally O'Reiley of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd on January 3, 1999, parents, George and Ella (Stratton) Colbo, brother, Donald S. Colbo, sister Gene (John) Wishau, brothers-in-law, Donald (Dee) Sorensen, Marvin, Daryl, and Robert Sorensen, in-laws, George (Beulah) Sorensen.
Nancy's visitation will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at West Lawn Memorial Park.

To Penny and family. I just saw that Nancy had passed away last month. We sure had alot of good times at our breakfast get togethers, and I had alot of fond memories with her at work!
