Nancy Strickland Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 9, 2026.
Nancy Roberts Strickland, 84, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2026. She was born on September 18, 1941, in Winters, Texas.

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who deeply loved her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 64 years, Jerry Strickland; her son, Dan Strickland; her parents, Virgil and Wayne Roberts; and her brother, Wayne Roberts.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Lauren Strickland; her children, Lee Strickland and Susan Strickland; her daughter-in-law, Maria Strickland; her sister, Susan Green (Art); her brother, Jimmy Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A woman of strong Christian faith, Nancy was known for her love of people and her prayerful heart. She was a wonderful mother who led by example through kindness, faith, and love.

Nancy earned a BBA and a teaching certificate from Angelo State University. Her career included being a real estate broker, co-owning an ice cream shop, teaching at Howard College, and later selling funnel cakes while traveling.

Her Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with others. Nancy cultivated friendships that lasted a lifetime. She had an extraordinary capacity for having fun, whether it was playing cards and other games or simply sharing her zest for life with those around her. Nancy's spirit will continue to live on in the stories shared by her friends and family and in the countless memories they hold dear.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Southgate Church of Christ, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a small donation be made to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation, San Angelo Christian Academy, or a charity of one's choice.
